Osage Orange

Osage orange wood is characterized by its bright golden to yellow color when freshly cut, which darkens over time to a medium brown, is extremely hard, dense, tough, and considered one of the most durable woods in North America; it is often used for fence posts, bows, musical instruments, and turnings due to its strength and resistance to decay, and is also known as "bois d'arc" (French for "bow wood") because of its historical use by Native Americans for making bows.
