"ProSet" Sorrells Tool - Bevel Grinding Jig
The ProSet Sorrells tool is the next generation of grinding jigs. Machined from solid aluminum for a light weight and corrosion resistant tool to ensure perfectly even bevels from side to side. This bevel grinding tool includes 1/4x20 threaded holes for those that prefer to bolt their knife rather than clamping it to the jig, and three different slots for a file guide to slide into to, to accomodate knives as small as a folder to anything as big as a chef's knife or above.
The tool-less adjustment plate consists of two clamping levers and a locator pin allowing for precision control ranging from 1 to 18 degrees. Simply loosen both levers and set the locator pin on the desired angle then press down on the jig to ensure it's flat on the work rest before tightening both levers and you're set to start grinding away at your perfectly matching bevels! This precision locator pin ensures repeatability to grind at the same angle even if you need to go back over an old knife.
The base plate, raised off of the surface at the desired angle helps prevent swarf buildup from grinding from affecting the smooth flow of this tool, as well as threaded holes in the base for optional handles to be added (sold seperately).
